Northern
Connections recently received a message on their
message-manager inviting them to attend the
Christian Extravaganza being held at the Disney
World Concert Hall on Saturday August 20th/05.
Wow, we had 5 days notice to organize
representation and make the journey to Los
Angeles, California! So off to work we went!
The Christian Extravaganza is organized by Alice
Hill from Beverly Hills, California; its mission
statement is to provide a platform to bring the
finest Christian artists, dancers, musicians in
the world from all cultures and nations to the
finest stages of the world. Gathering together
in unity they perform unto the God of the
heavens and earth with praise-filled hearts.
As we returned their message we spoke to Alice
Hill from Beverly Hills, organizer of the
Christian Extravaganza. The invitation came in
the form of a general invitation of all those
who had attended the previous year’s venue. It
was only when we spoke that she learned that we
were First Nations and had attended the
Extravaganza the year before, held at the Kodak
Theatre. She informed us that they had been
praying for three months for First Nations
representation for this event and were unable to
make connections, due to already existing
commitments of local First Nations people, and
was delighted to hear from us. |

So we sent out
invitations to our people, praying that God
would hand select those that were to make the
journey. The final representatives who had
committed to going were Robert Nabess, Guy,
Melanie and Joel Molin. We departed The Pas
Thursday evening driving through the night, so
that we would arrive into Winnipeg in time to
depart on a Westjet flight to Los Angeles, via
Calgary.
Upon arriving into LAX Airport we were blessed
to discover that the arrival to our hotel, as
well getting our bearings to and from the
Concert Hall went smoothly, without confusion.
The rest of the evening was spent touring around
the many new sights of the city of L.A.,
Hollywood, and other attractions that we had not
seen the year before. Saturday morning came
early and we made our way to the downtown area
of L.A. Much of the time prior to the event was
spent sharing the things that God had done for
us on previous trips. Excitement was building in
anticipation of what He had planned for the
evening’s event. We knew there were going to be
breakthroughs in the Spirit, for Melanie and I
(Joel) had come under heavy opposition. Sudden
severe earache threatened air travel, weather
conditions hindering connections to The Pas from
Pukatawagan and a much more than usually hectic
business office was demanding attention just an
hour prior to our departure to Winnipeg. With
these increased activities we knew that the
enemy was getting squeezed into a corner and was
pulling last minute punches. This only deepened
our conviction to press on.
As we met with Alice she explained that we were
to prepare the Hall in prayers prior to the
event dressed in full regalia. We made our way
to the front of the stage where Guy and Robert
took their stand at either end of the stage,
unknowingly becoming symbolic Gatekeepers to the
entrances of the stage. Guy having just recently
come from a gathering in Quebec City, Quebec,
was reminded about a prophecy concerning him of
his role in bringing down the wall in high
places and taking the responsibilities of a
symbolic Gatekeeper. |

Melanie, dressed
in her new Fancy Shawl Regalia (Royal Robes),
was moved by the Spirit to approach the centre
of the stage where she bowed her head in prayer.
The audience, looking back and forth to the two
warriors dressed in red regalia, Melanie in the
middle appearing to be asking for favor from the
King, was being prepared to receive God’s word.
A time of worship commenced, opening the
Christian Extravaganza. Shortly afterwards a
prophetic Pastor shared the season that we were
entering into, comparing it to the book of
Esther in the Bible. Esther having been raised
to her position “for such a time as this”, to
approach the King’s throne in her best Royal
Robe, pleading for mercy on behalf of her
people. Again Melanie unknowingly stepped into
this prophetic visual act in front of the stage
to captivate the audience when they heard God’s
word spoken through the story of Esther.
Throughout the event’s entirety our warriors had
maintained their stand, speaking volumes to the
audience. Alice Hill approached us after,
confirming what we had already sensed in the
Spirit, that God had appointed our warriors as
Gatekeepers to the event.
With the event coming to a close we were
extended an invitation to participate in the
next year’s event. Please be sure to check-in
from time to time on our website for details on
this event and other upcoming outreaches.
Due to photograph restrictions in place at the
Disney World Concert Hall we were not allowed to
take photos during the event. So we apologize
for not being able to do the usual pictorial
reports. |
