From this desire came forth the longing to venture into the North Country. I would sit during my Canadian History classes, listening to tales of the fur trade, and the stories of the First Nations who lived on the land.
When I was the age of two, the words of my mother’s
prophecy was burned into my memory. My mother, having just listened to a
Christian television talk show interviewing a Native Chief, turned to a
So receiving word back from a resume that I had sent to
the Hudson’s Bay
Meanwhile an old man, the grandfather of my wife to be, had a dream and recounted it to his family. He shared it like this, that when a golden haired boy was born into his family that it would be a season of change for his family and community.
Yet another old man of this community, a former chief,
who was very old, called for my wife. He began to speak prophecy into her
life by sharing the things that were to come to this village. Many troubles,
death of people and wildlife, vandalism, and hopelessness, the same troubles
that the prophet Hosea of the Bible spoke about would come to his village.
But through the people returning to their Creator, God would heal their land
again. He somehow knew that this change would happen through my wife’s faith
in YESHUA. For when the old man seen my wife during this visit he had a
vision where he seen her engulfed by a bright light when she entered the
room. And in growing with favour from the Creator, I soon began to have godly men come into my life. Through unique sets of circumstances crafted by the Creator’s hands, he used these men to keep me accountable to my call but not necessarily teach me. This He reserved for Himself. During this time I found myself struggling with the aboriginal culture that was ever more present in my life and which I found foreign, but very much part of my wife and children. I struggled with the appearance of having accepted it for my family’s sake. Finally when I could no longer stand it, I convinced my wife that this way was evil and used God’s word to condemn it. And as a result of this action, I attacked my own family. Oblivious to the damage I had caused, I stopped my children from the dancing and singing the chanting songs along with the drum. I soon found friends that would agree with me that this way was wrong and that I was on the right track removing my family from this heathen culture. But as a ploy from the enemy, Satan used some dear friends of mine to strangle what God had instilled in me, but without success. Having read a book by the name of Bruchko written by late Bruce Olson, from an early age, He would use this book to bring me back. And so during a visit to Edmonton I had the honour to meet this man, whom I admired, face to face. And more importantly God used this man to speak into my life personally. Bruce Olson lived amongst the First Nations of Venezuela. He was known by “Bruchko”, a name given to him by the tribe. He was led by God to share the message of love and salvation through the culture of these peoples and at the rebuke of the colonial church. And it was because they could come as they were and not how the church would have them come, that they so readily accepted the Good News. God’s message sunk deep into them; because they didn’t have to become someone they weren't to have a personal relationship with their Creator. After coming to the full realization of what I had done to both my family and First Nations friends, I began to repent and seek forgiveness for the views I once held. God had given me a new outlook on culture. I suspect that it was much like that when the apostle Peter was asked to kill and eat all kinds of unclean animals and birds during a vision he had. As described in the book of Acts 10:10-15 The time had come for YESHUA to unveil the plan for the call on my life. While I was stationed in Fort McMurray, Alberta after having left the Hudson’s Bay Company to become an Airline Pilot, He showed me through the words of the prophet Isaiah. I was to gather all those whether they were blind or deaf to the work of the Spirit. Not to worry if they believed like I did, for He spoke to me and said that only He could save. And because of the journey which He had educated me through, I was now commissioned to speak for Him; because he found that I had stopped chasing strange gods, such as the love of money and worldly pleasures. He began to show me the state of His church through the prophet Nehemiah, Hosea, Haggai and Ezra. And so through the words of these prophets of old, God began to reveal to me the work that He was doing in rebuilding His temple that lays in ruins amongst our First Nations people. All this brought on by a well-meaning, but yet destructive Colonial Christian Church philosophy imposed on them and by government assimilation policies. After showing me all what He had done for me in the past, along with a blue print of His church, as described in the book of Nehemiah. He has called me out to gather and rebuild those walls that had been torn down. It is now the time to listen to what the Spirit is saying and roll up our sleeves and do what He has commanded us to do. That is to love our Creator with our whole being and our neighbours as we love ourselves, standing in the gap for them, encouraging them to seek after Him, the Creator - Christ — YESHUA! For He had said, "I shall lead you into all truths." Our Creator has assembled a likeminded core group of believers that have all been trained up by His personal intervention, and which makes up our Gate Keepers. All of them have awesome stories on how they have been led by the Spirit to find themselves where they are now. Today we invite all to join us as we travel in Full Cultural Regalia sharing stories of what He has done for us in our personal lives. And all those wanting to discover who they are as people leave whole and complete because of the work of the Spirit, who has lead them into all truths. They come to the realization of what the Creator had created them to be and that was to be a First Nations people alive and born into the Creator’s family. This unfortunately was not what we had taught them through our actions; rather that they should change from the outside to better fit our world. And in the words of YESHUA he says that, “The real change needs to happen inside when God miraculously performs a heart transplant - when we surrender our will for His." And with this a new heart flows new life that is exposed outwardly.
Our Creator will, as said in the scriptures, "I will call
a people from every Tribe, Nation and Tongue". |
